Request for Proposals: FY24 Community Investments

Brick & Beam Society, a giving circle of United Way of Southern Maine (UWSM), is pleased to announce that it is now accepting funding applications for its FY24 Community Investments.  

Brick & Beam Society takes a broad view of the community, bringing emerging and established leaders together and building momentum for action. The group leverages United Way of Southern Maine’s rich history, resources, knowledge, and relationships to get results. Brick & Beam Society is aligned with Thrive2027’s Community-Wide Goals and those of United Way of Southern Maine.   

Request for Proposals

Brick & Beam Society supports high-impact, sustainable, and replicable projects that use innovative, holistic, collaborative approaches, and advance racial equity. All proposals must align with Thrive2027 priorities.

Brick & Beam Society seeks proposals that:  

  • target early childhood learning and/or STEAM programming; and
  • support high-need populations from birth through 8th grade.

Grant Details

Amount: Between $25,000 and $50,000 (one to three awards available) 
Funding Period: November 1, 2023-August 30, 2024 unless otherwise noted.  
Deadline for Submission: Friday, August 25, 2023
Notification Timeline: October 13, 2023  

Final applicants will be invited for an interview on September 13 between 10am-1pm. If applying, please hold this date on your calendar.
