Second Annual BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) and New Member Welcome

Thursday, March 30, 2017 5:30 - 7:00 pm Rising Tide Brewery, 103 Fox St, Portland

Please join the Brick and Beam Society at Rising Tide Brewery to welcome new members and support early childhood literacy

Please bring new or gently used books written by Tomie dePaola to donate. Last year, we collected 150 books for Westbrook Schools' annual author study series, where students across the district read multiple books from the same author.

Let's break last year's record and collect 200 books or more for students in Portland Elementary Schools!

Sherman's Books, Print: A Book Store, and Longfellow Books will all have Tomie dePaola books in stock for you to purchase. You can also order on-line through our Amazon Wish List. Feel free to buy another Tomie dePaola book if you have a favorite, even if it isn't on the wish list. If you can't make the event and still want to donate a book, you can drop them off at United Way of Greater Portland, 1 Canal Plaza, Suite 300, Portland by 3/29.

Come hear updates from the Brick & Beam Steering Committee on plans for this year, the Impact Investment Team on our investments to date, and meet some of our 37 new Brick & Beam members.

To top it off, Rising Tide is donating $1 from every 10 oz. drink that day to the Brick & Beam Society. Classic Sliders food truck will be on site in case you want to buy a burger and fries.

Guests are welcome. The brewery will be open to the public, but please R.S.V.P. by Monday, March 27, 2017, so we know how many people to expect.
